Trade my blades for something different?

I am a 100-110 golfer. I'm not very good and VERY inconsistent. However, I have the golf bug and itch to go play every week.
Through research, I have found that my issue is early extension and not coming down and through on my irons. I may pure it usually about 1/3 hits. The other 2/3 who knows where its going to end up. Fat, thin, pull, shank, 10yds left, 50yds right, etc...
Right now I am playing TaylorMade 2.0 Burner Blades that I bought from a buddy of mine. I hear these are unforgiving, but would different irons make that much more of a difference for me?
ETA: These are not blades... And apparently what I need!

Are you sure you got the right club model listed? The 2.0's are farrrrrrrrrrrrrr from blades.
I'd take a lesson before getting rid of the 2.0's. Those are good irons for a wide array of handicaps.

Is this what you clubs look like? Not blades and good for your handicap. You should stick with those as they are considered game improvement irons.

I also started out with these, they are very forgiving.
I would work more on your consistency and ball striking. It will vastly improve your game over switching Irons.
Just FYI, they are not "blades" they are "cavity back".

Spend the money from the set of irons on lessons. I think you’ll be happier. IMO.

These would be considered modern blades.

EE is a symptom of something else. Likely being too steep or over the top. With your current swing, if you didn’t early extend you would probably hit it worse. Practice hitting balls with your trail foot further from the target line than the other foot.

I still game the Burner 2.0s. I thought I may be able to move into some Sub70 Cavity Backs....and I could not.
If anyone is looking for a deal on 639 CBs, 105DG Shafts and midsized grips let me know

Where you located Crawfish? Might be interested in those irons. I have been looking at those exact irons for a little while now.

Take lessons.
Maybe one every two weeks with 2 practice sessions each week working on your process.
A good teaching pro can get you to set up better.
Grip, aim, stance, posture all happen before a swing. Do these right, you will have a chance.
The swing is a continuous motion to and fro. You have to find your rhythm/tempo that lets you swing the club freely.
A good teaching pro can get your setup optimized. Then you can find the swing.
Get an orange whip.
If you can’t go to the range, swing it in the courtyard or parking lot/garage at work during lunch. Swing into golf. Earnest Jones/Manuel de la Torres.
Feel the swing. Be the ball.

Central Louisiana. I still have the box and can ship them to you. I would say they are an 8/10 condition. Shoot me an email (drunkencrawfishtd@gmail.com)
