Has anyone played here recently? Im playing in the morning and wondering what to expect in terms of difficulty in the rough and greens because of the Zurich being so close. TIA

Played Monday.

Greens look fantastic...as does the rest of the course. They’re still a little spongey and aren’t super fast but they will be quick once they dry out.

I thought fairways looked good as well. Tee boxes probably the weak link, but then again, those won’t be used for the Zurich.

Part of me wants it to be tough like a tour course should be (ego)

the other part of me doesnt want anything to do with that (brain)

The PGA really doesn't set up the course super tough for the pros. The greens are firm and fast, but the rough really isn't much.

The rough is usually tougher in the summer than it will be right now.

thats goo to hear. Ive played there once before and it was in the summer. The rough was the thickest ive ever had to play out of. Could barely even advance the ball

How much does it cost to play a round out there?

it depends on day and time and if you are from Louisiana.

TPC Avondale Tee Times

Anywhere from about $80 to well over $100.
You might can get a deal on a twilight round.

Pretty sure they are shutting it down for extensive renovations after the tournament.

You are correct GWfool.
TPC will be closed from May-November.
They are going to kill all the grass and redo the whole course.

I am not sure of any renovations to the holes themselves, but it is in for all new grass.
