A guy with your game didn’t suddenly lose the ability to play golf. I bet a pro could get you sorted out fairly quick.

Good luck.

You are a better golfer than I am based on your description however I just got over what you are going through. The shanks made me hate golf. And I couldn't figure out what I was doing. For me it was my takeaway. My club face was flying open, and I wasn't closing it at impact. This led me to shank my irons. I focused on my takeaway and my grip. I am finally comfortable over the ball again. You will get through it baw.

Happen to me a few years ago. I can’t get it back. Won’t even play a scramble

Time to play a round just hitting punchy traps. It's actually pretty satisfying even if your iron game isn't in shambles.

Had a hip injury almost two years ago and really forgot how to use my body so I "lost" my swing also and was totally frustrated like the OP. Ended up with a hip replacement and later, a swing rebuild. Here is my advice:

1. Don't take anyone's advice in this post on how to fix your swing issues. They haven't seen you swing and the overall odds of them being correct are super slim. No offense to anyone.
2. I stopped trying to fix things myself and decided to get serious about lessons so I started going to Rob Noel at Money Hill. I've been as low as a +2 and thought I knew a lot about the golf swing. Turns out, not so much.
3. It's a process and it's not going to happen overnight.
