Jordan Spieth went from being #1 in the world to struggling to make cuts over the course of a few months. He’s just now getting back to the point where he can hold it together for 4 consecutive days. He’s infinitely more talented than Smylie. His problems were mostly mental, in my opinion.
I’m sure there is a technical aspect to the struggles...but when you completely lose the ability to play at that previous level and there isn’t an injury to blame, it almost has to be mental.

Some young Korn Ferry guys played at our club when things were shutdown. We have several ex-college players who are say +2.
I played a round with 2 of them and one of their dad’s. Just for fun.
Those guys are good. Steph Curry’s a good golfer, but these guys would bleed him just like he would school the best basketball player I know.
68 is par for most of them.
They have so many skills.
I did beat them both on a par 3 where their wedges spun back into the water. For me to win 1 hole was like a lottery.
Otherwise I just enjoyed watching them working.
I suck. I am 11 index, but played as low as 7.5 last year. Golf is hard.

quote:Agreed. Look at the tournament he played in. They beat him by more than 30 strokes

Problem is, they are also beating Smylie by 30 strokes on the Korn Ferry currently

He would? Steph went 71-86 at an actual pro event
Seems right in line with Smylie
As bad as he's been his worst single round I can find for him is 84. He also has a lot of rounds in the 60s the past several years. 71 is about as good as Curry can shoot in tournament conditions. Yes, Smylie would destroy Curry. That 71-86 he shot was also at a Korn Ferry event, not a PGA tour event.

After looking it just isnt correct to say Smylie would smoke Steph
Smylies last Korn Ferry starts
+20
+9
+9
Stephs Korn Ferry start
+16
Smylie went -1 through three round before he was cut at the Pebble Beach Pro Am a couple weeks ago. He shot +11 in two rounds at a PGA Tour event last week. Curry does not have the game to do that. Is it possible he has the ability to maybe beat Smylie on a given day? Maybe. But, on average, Snylie would smoke Curry

Kaufman is a mystery to me.
He competed very well in college.
Does he have an undisclosed injury or a unknown life stressor?
I thought he would make it for awhile.
There is still time.

She's a great girl. Smylie is a great guy from a great family. I'm sure she helps his game. It's their livelihood.

I follow Smylie on shot tracer every event he plays. The dude blows it everywhere off the tee and is hitting it OB multiple times a round.
The dude lost his ability to use his driver as a weapon.
ETA: also Smylie would absolutely work Steph, this shouldn’t event be up for debate
