The greens at oakbourne are always better than average. The fact that we have an aging sprinkler/drainage/irrigation system is the crux. They can’t even turn them on bc they may completely fail at this point. I think our board is finally realizing we can’t keep kicking the can down the road with “quick fixes”. I’m all for closing the course down for 6-8 months IF they fixed it right.

When membership hits 450 the initiation is going up to 7500 just fyi. That email was sent out last week. It’s at 391 now.

Really enjoyed that email

All member levels going up $24/month effective immediately too.

I understand the reasoning but I was already on the fence about staying on for stock membership when I turn 40, but the new dues plus initiation fee increase has probably sealed it for me. It just sucks because I've been a member there for 11 years and I love it there. But they are pricing the middle class guys like me out. I just won't be able to afford it in a few years. I'm 36 now.

Will likely be switching to LT within the year. $300/month with 3k initiation fee, no food minimums. $390 when I turn 40. Can't beat that.

We probably know each other roguetiger lol

They’re not “easier to maintain”. They may spray less fungicide, but it’s not like they mow the grass less often. And I hear what your saying about hitting a pricing ceiling, but that’s probably what’s needed. The public courses are so crowded it takes 5+hrs to play a round. The solution to that would be to go up on prices to eliminate some lower their customers. They may not notice a difference on the balance sheet, but it there is less wear and tear on the course, then they’ve made a positive impact in the balance sheet stays the same. I would imagine revenue would increase though, not stay the same if a price increase was to occur

Meh, just going by what I have seen over the last few months. I do not expect it to remain this way though.

I know someone who played the Wetlands and the Farm the last 2 days and said the Wetlands is much better than the Farm.

Really???? If you need me to....Fairways are significantly better, greens have no poa and roll much smoother than the FARM... This is from a 1 handicap, not from a hack.

May as well pay $390/month and become a member at L.T. and play a much better course, eat at a great restaurant, and enjoy Country Club benefits (if you can afford it).

LT is not in better shape than Cane Row. Not even close. I don’t have a dog in this fight. I am about to join Oakbourne, but cane row is really good right now.

Played LT today… greens are bumpy… they have not healed from the punching about a month ago according to some members…Cane’s greens are better.
