One is a game improvement club and one is a blade based off the most famous golfer ever’s clubs. Not really an apple to apple comparison when talking about releases here. Also 2 years since they introduced the first set of P790. Actually, I would say this release cycle is very Un-TaylorMade.

I think you just made his point. Point being that game improvement iron at a $3k price point when you could get a famous golfers set for same coin. At least that's how I interpreted it.

It has been 2 years, but they've also been releasing irons steady during that time frame. One of the things they mentioned when they were bought out (or brought someone else in to manage) was not releasing a new line for every day of the week. Something tells me that simply tweaking a successful line and doubling the price will not bode well for them.

The point is these cater to very different market segments, the famous golfers set is a good club choice for less than 5% of golfers
