This event should get more people interesting women’s golf, but the pace of play is unbelievably slow. It’s disgraceful and they need to do something about it if they want to keep this thing going.
That said, Americans are balling out and should take a big lead to tomorrow

Was out there today and it’s terribly run and so slow in the afternoon with four ball. Was fun to watch Nelly this morning and Rose Zhang this afternoon though.
Yesterday they had the debacle with the parking and buses. They seemed to have fixed that but they had probably 1/4 of the number of concessions they needed on a hot humid day. It was a 45 min wait just to get water. Felt bad for the older folks there.

They know how many tickets they sold for the event and should plan accordingly.
The tournament looks awesome. Ciganda’s pace of play is an absolute disgrace and I don’t understand how she isn’t penalized every single tournament she plays in.

The jokes write themselves with the whole female indecisiveness, but it’s a huge problem in women’s golf.
Charley Hull and Nelly Korda are two fast players and were clocking 6 hour rounds when they were paired together at the Women’s Open Championship.
Makes it unwatchable.

Junior golf is painfully slow.

clocking 6 hour rounds
Don’t want to be mean I guess. Put me in charge and I’ll piss a lot of them off, but if they take 6 hours they’ll be shooting 80

The only way I can watch it is to DVR it and fast forward. They are really slow.

What do you think the right solution is for slow play? I think every hole should have a time par based on the score, so lie this par 4 has a time par of 12 minutes for par, 14 minutes for bogey, etc. and if you are over par for more than 2 holes on a. Round the your group is on the clock and the next violation gets you a 1 stroke penalty based on referee judgement. Something like that would allow for a bad hole or 2 that doesn’t hurt your score.

Adding the ability to use a range finder that does NOT include slope will help from a tech standpoint. Distance to the pin only.
It needs to be an individual thing. Give a player 3-5 time cards which will give them an additional 2 minutes on a shot. 2 minutes is a lot of time when playing a shot. I would be pretty flexible about adjusting that depending on how the standard time allowed works out.
Then each shot has a 2, maybe 3 minute time frame from the time they reach their ball, or if it’s their turn to play. I wouldn’t include discussion on where to drop should that be needed. If it’s a bad lie and you want to think about it, that’s what the time cards are for.
I rarely see pros talking with their caddies about the upcoming shot before they get to it. Every time it seems it’s a process that starts from scratch. I understand why they do so, what I don’t want rewarded is taking 10 minutes to figure out what they want to do, then getting themselves psyched up to do it.
You hit your driver, you know about how far it goes, so you should be trying to decide between 3 clubs to use unless it’s something screwy. You already know where the flag is, and what portion of the green to shoot at or avoid. It’s not a complicated process.
I play fast, I get it. I’m not a pro, I get that too, but I’ve played to a plus handicap so it’s not like I couldn’t play well. I’ve never taken anywhere near as long as I see those women take on a 150 yard shot from the middle of the fairway.
They’re trying to be too perfect or they’re just indecisive. Both are bad for speed of play.

Ladies are doing their best to try and give it away

I feel bad for her, but man Lexi is a complete choke artist.

Cold blooded from Lilia.

Lilia Vu birdieing 17 and 18 to snatch a half point and win the cup is as cold blooded as I’ve seen. That wedge into 18 was filthy. After Europe celebrated a retention like they win in a blowout, they deserve some heartbreak and pain…glad to see US get a decisive victory

Lexi has to be one of the worst under pressure golfers we’ve seen in a long time.

There are actual studies which show that more information does not lead to better decisions.
For me;
1. What is the lie?
2. What is the distance?
3. Pick a club
4. Take a swing
5. Get out ball retriever
6. Get ball out.
7. Drop.
8. Pitch over hazard.
9. 2 putts.
10. NET 5
