ShiftWork has lots of negatives, but it sure is nice to play golf during the week and not have to fight the weekend crowds.
I made the mistake of trying to play late Friday afternoon this week, and I got behind a fivesome of very bad golfers that would not let me through. I eventually went around them and skipped a few holes.
I think I might give up golf if that was my only option.

There is something about playing on a Saturday morning that I love. Weekdays do not feel the same.

I took off of work on a Thursday before we headed on vacation. Decided to get a round in early in the morning before we left.
Worst round of golf in my life. Old people everywhere, I was asked to play through 5 times in 12 holes. Never felt so rushed in my life.
Gave up after 12 and went home to pack the car

You have to let the retirees finish their morning round, and when they are napping around 11, you go and get the course to yourself.

I drove by Fenwood in Zachary about a month ago on a Sunday afternoon on my way to work. You couldn't have fit another car in the parking lot and the fairways were wall to wall carts.
I'd prefer to have a root canal over playing like that.

Yeah but the problem is you have to go as a single a lot. Hard to find playing partners.

It is. And I can understand those who have their regular Saturday foursome and how that would be fun. But usually playing alone, it's no fun having to fight crowds as well.

Yep you can drink and get high and not have to worry about going to work the next day.

Just because the course isnt crowded doesn’t mean you can play fast. Old grumpy men that think they own public courses and refuse to let a single play through are the worst and they seem to be plentiful on week days.

We play a big game there every Sunday at 1:00....anywhere from 25-40 guys. Usually finish in about 3.5 hours. It’s not crowded or slow at all

Saturdays are awful.
During the week, I walk 9 in less than 90 minutes.
Saturday morning rounds often go 4 hours or so.
