reverse the loop” with Jess Frank. It is 2 minutes.

This.

This move took me from a 10 down to a scratch at my lowest (a 2 now). To this day I still struggle with getting back over the top and that reversing the loop (especially the takeaway) is what gets me back to striking it better.

I’m 8.8 index.

If I can just stop hitting the ground first when my back hurts, I can probably get to 6.

I think when my back hurts I lose rotation and SWAY like the Girl from Ipenema.

I do feet together for turn feel, but when the back hurts I need to find a way to rotate and not sway.

I have videoed my swing and feel embarrassed for myself. Even when I try to do the things my 15 year old daughter does and that I constantly help remind her about when she gets a little off, I just don’t have the ability to execute the mechanics. So, I just play and know I will shoot 88-95 every time with my swing of 35 years. I don’t even warm up on the range pre-round anymore. Spend about 10 minutes chipping and putting and off we go. I only hit 230 yd drive but will be in 12 of 14 fairways. Grind up to the green or green side and chip and putt. A handful of pars and maybe 1 birdie in 3 rounds. But I am 56 now and just love the game. Quit worrying about being a low handicap years ago and just enjoy the good shots and now laugh at the shitty ones. Enjoy watching my girl play (she has a GHIN Index 7.5) and being the golfer I once hoped to be. Crazy thing is I have been her coach since she started 3 years ago and have taught her the mechanics that I wished my own body could do. I have heard many say that anyone can be good at golf. Like low handicap good with enough practice. That is bull shite. I have known guys playing as long or longer than me who have spent so much time and money on lessons and equipment for decades that are still mid to high handicaps. Like anything, some people just have it and some never will. I have learned to stop fighting my limitations and just enjoy the game.

IMO, “Talent” determines the “ceiling.”

The “floor” is set by:

1. “Skills” which can improve with proper instruction and repetition.

2. “Decision making/ course management.”

Shorten the backswing. When mine hurts I do, less distance but it’s better than a miss hit.

Sway still works when you want a little extra in it.
