Have a group of 15 going over next month and have played all the courses there a few times. Many of the recent reviews are trashing the condition of the Links and Baytown courses. Anyone played there recently?
Raven is the nicer course that's public and it has mixed reviews recently as well
Looking at Emerald Bay and Regatta as alternatives

Burnt Pine is the crown gem of Destin. If you are staying at a Sandestin resort you can get a tee time there.
Raven is 2nd.
The Links is ok, for a few holes along the bay, but the rest of it is trash. Blind shots into water/hazards everywhere.
Never played Baytowne.
Regatta is my 2nd favorite course in Destin behind Burnt Pine. it's a fantastic course, great practice facilities also.

LInks and Baytowne condition is always hit or miss. Also, don't trust online review 100%. Ive read horrible reviews online and have been very happy with a course. SOme people just love to bitch.
Raven is the best on property that is 100% public. Regatta Bay and Emerald Bay are also nice courses a little ways down 98. Not a bad drive if traffic isn't terible which it shouldnt be at this time of year.
Kelly Plantation is also nice but usually VERY expensive.

Agree on Burnt Pine but we are not staying on property.
Raven and Regatta are around $160, Kelly wants like $220
May be able to get a deal closer to $100 at Emerald. Probably 2/3 of the group are less that 4 times a year golfers, so will probably try to stay around $125 wherever we can get a group rate
Thanks

Bring a bunch of balls. Spraying it down there is more deadly that most.

Which is the one that you see on your left when you enter the security gate as you’re driving to the Hilton?

That’s a Par 3 on Links

I played Raven yesterday. First time.
Greens were rough but they hadn’t cut in a few days because of Helene. Range was closed too which I wasn’t happy about. But as far as layout it was a lot of fun. Closing 4 holes straight into the wind made for interesting shot making. Overall I’d play there again, had a good time and shot 89.
