Right middle fingernail cutting into skin

Most times when playing my right middle fingernail, the side, will begin to cut into the skin surrounding the nail. Has anyone had this happen to them before? If so, any way to fix this other than just putting a band-aid and sports tape when playing to prevent from happening?

Fingernails are clipped fine
