Any of you baws done this before without the "proper equipment"? Steal shafts so not really worried about melting them.

I have a torch and a gas burning range

Heat it up with a torch, and pull the head off with your hands.

You don't need a puller for steel.

Heat ferrule up first lightly and use a box cutter to cut it off. You don’t want to melt it on the head or shaft. Turn head where the face is facing away from you. Get about an inch away and stay in one spot for about 8-10 seconds. You should see a small puff of smoke or hear a puff. Use gloves and twist head off.
