When one is doing a shaft lean forward kind of beginner swing, can you hit the ball, going thru it, without doing a crossover release? Does that work with driver? Does this make sense?

I think I know what you are asking. The hands will naturally want to crossover and release.
I forward press and use kind of a stack and tilt action in my normal swing. What your talking about it kind of my thought when I'm trying to flight a shot.

Right, the hands cross over. But it seems hard to time that with the ball. Can you not just hit thru the ball then release?
I feel like i spent a lot do time trying to have a perfect release when really i can keep it square thru impact and then release

Look up Ernest Jones or Manuel de la Torres.
Erika Larkin too.
They simplify the swing.

I highly suggest, especially as a beginner, you don't think about "releasing the club", your hands will do it natrually

no shaft lean on driver. Less wrist hinging in your backswing can help with getting the hands turned over for driver
