What are some local driving range options?
Also, any with lights to hit at night?

If we’re talking BR, Only one with lights is The Legacy on Sherwood

Yes, BR.
Damn. Is that the old Sherwood Forrest?

It is.
Santa Maria is the only other public range. And it’s mats only all the time I swear.
You could go to Golf Suites.. that’s the pricier option.. they have trackman though

Best option if you don’t mind the drive

If you want lights, you’re probably stuck with TopGolf and Golf Suites.

Is Golf Suites off a mat?

The Legacy replaced the old mats with rock hard concrete and turf. You will break your wrist hitting anything less than a 4 iron.
The grass area is never good. It’s just not a place that’s invested in golf.

Which is sad, because they could make it and excellent practice facility. Because they still have access to a few of the holes from the original club. If they put in a premium mat area and good grass and opened a couple holes it would be fantastic

Not a great range. Grass gets chewed up pretty quick and gets closed pretty quick when it rains. Practice facility is hardly a thing. Postage stamp chopping green with tiny bunker.
Relatively flat putting green

Couldn’t agree more. It seems like they’re filling with too much sand, but I don’t know.

I like to go to the LSU driving range for full swing practice. Call first to see if it’s open, because they close it with a little rain. Grass surface, decent balls. For putting and chipping, I go to Santa Maria.

LSU doesn’t have lights, right?

A little bit of a drive but our range is open to the public. On grass 95% of the time and I make sure we have good balls. No lights though...
