Figured I'd post this. Respect to the Louisianan spelling.
Roaring Gap, NC
Looks nice and it's gonna be great weather.

Thanks, Chappy. It does look nice. Love me some mountain golf.
Good thing about living here in Greensboro. Beach golf one way, mountain golf the other. And then Pinehurst 90 mins south.

I'm in Charlotte. Love it here. Never played old Beau, though.
Hit me up here if you ever want to head to Boone and play.
Play well

Not busting your balls, but it is actually Olde Beau, not old. The course and club was built by Billy Satterfield and named after his bulldog.
Subtle brag approaching. He was a member at the golf club I worked at in Vero Beach, Fl. He chartered a King Air and invited some members to the grand opening and I was fortunate enough to be included. Sat in the co-pilot seat with explicit instructions from the pilot not to touch anything.
That was my first experience with mountain golf and remember some dramatic elevation drops. Especially on a par 3. Have a nice round!

Update:
Played the round Saturday. Goodness, it was a beautiful day. Sunny with a high near 80. Maybe the hilliest course I've played. Not many level lies. Amazing and tricky course layout.
My legs were gone by the end of it. Walked up so many huge hills. And these weren't "hills".. it was like climbing ladders out there, especially around some of the greens.
Greens were FAST (had to be around a 11 or 12) and in immaculate shape. Loved that.
My game was a little Jeckle and Hyde. Good holes, missed some birdie putts, then I'd have a bad hole. Not all my fault though.
Take #17 for example. Straight away landing zone about 200 yds out, with a HARD dogleg left.
I figured I'd hit a 5W over the trees to hit fairway in the dogleg to set up a short iron. Seemed like a good play. I hit a perfect 5W.
Did not know that from the landing zone to the left is a 80 ft gorge pretty much. Never found the ball. I messed that hole up so bad throughout though.
I'll try to post some pictures later.

Haven't played Olde Beau, but have played High Meadows which is only a few miles from there. Gorgeous area and a relatively short drive from Charlotte.
I've heard Olde Beau has so many vertical changes that it's not really a great course to play often because you're taking so many crazy shots.

You heard right. If you get out of position in most places, you're prettt much screwed.
And like I said earlier, course knowledge is pretty necessary..
So many blind shots. We had no clue what the hole was doing on several tee shots and par 5s.
