Hey bopper50. I'm back from the PGA Show with that report I promised. First of all, what an event! Coaching/Teaching Summit, 800 vendors, more foreign languages than you could imagine. Truly a world wide event. Saw a bunch of celebs. Annika, Lexi Thompson, Blair O'Neal, Brad Faxon and others. Shook hands with my man Rick Shiels. I stayed in a nine bedroom house with 8 other pros. We talked all things golf late into the night. Chris Mayson was with us a couple of nights. (He teaches about 20 tour players in England, LPGA, PGA and European) Super sharp guy.
So for the review on Paradym and Aerojet. I could list all the technical specs but you can read that online. The bottom line is all the major manufacturers are making great products with hardly any discernable differences. What's the difference between a Lincoln and a Cadillac? They are both fine luxury cars. There are no secrets in the golf world anymore. Really, the Paradym and Aerojet and both more than adequate so it comes down to which one catches your eye and what combination of head and shaft gives you the numbers you are looking for. Personally, my top four drivers were the Paradym, Aerojet, Ping G430 and the Titleist TSr Series, particularly the TSr3 for me.
That Rossie Tri Hot putter is spot on like so many of the Odyssey line up. I'm a big fan of face balanced putters and the Rossie has a great look to it and easy to line up. Definitely recommend it. Hope this helps.

Hey Coach. The show did have quite a few DTC companies but as you would suspect I would guess 80% were companies that were more b2b. As for as LIV v PGA, I heard almost zero conversation about LIV, which is predictable since this is a PGA Show. New buzz words? Can't really say as anything stood out. The most surprising thing to me was the Pickleball vendors. There was a Pickleball court set up with play on it almost constantly and five or six equipment vendors. I guess Pickleball is really hot at country clubs and it's being added to the activities for members.
My favorite new item was a swing training aid called Arm Alarm by WhyGolf. Check it out. I will be putting it to use first thing this week. www.whygolf.com

The AeroJet is hot. Half my club is looking to get fit into it.

Thanks so much ViceGolfer forthefeedback.
I have been going back and forth thinking about the Paradym and the AeroJet.
In the past, I haven't had much luck with Callaway Drivers since the original GBB.
If I was picking to the AerJet is my choice. But I will do a fitting with the Paradym, AeroJet against my LTX LS Cobra.
I'm definitely getting the new Tri Hot Rossie, it's all ready booked.
Watching the Golf Channel, Sketchers has a new step in golf shoe with the BIO lacing that looks nice.
Did you notice any new shaft companies or hot new shafts ?

There were quite a few shaft companies. There are so many and it's hard to separate the quality. In shafts I typically like the more tried and true companies that have been at it a long time. Your fitter should know which one to recommend and which one fits best for your optimum ball flight. Great choice on the Rossie. I really liked that putter. As far as shoes, Ecco has become my favorite. I have three pair and about to order their brand new BIOM C4. The BIOM system brings the support for the shoe around the heel unlike anything I have seen. When I'm on the course the last thing I want is an uncomfortable shoe. The Ecco are tops for me. You ever realize that you only touch two things in the golf swing? Your feet touch the ground and your hands touch the grip. You get those two things figured out and you are 90% toward a good result.

I will look at the Ecco shoes.
Accuflex shafts are getting more interesting to me now. They have a huge following on the West Coast CC's.

Isn’t your pro a Callaway staffer?

Vice what area are you a pro in?
Nevermind I see Covington. Did you or are you playing in any section events this year?

Yes sir. I played in the 6 pro scramble at Diamondhead a couple of months ago. Will play mostly in senior events as I am in the category.

I was not at the dinner but I was at the meeting. Where are you located? Find me on pga.org. Vice is the clue.

Any reason as to why TM didn't show up ? Paradym stealing the show ?
Posted on 1/31/23 at 5:11 pm to OchoDedos
They haven’t been in the last few years I believe.

Saw the Rick Shiels podcast earlier today, he said if it weren't for Callaway and Cobra the Show would have been a dud. Said he wouldn't be surprised if this were the last year of the PGA Show.

Actually, Rick said the Demo Day was not what it used to be and he could see the Demo Day going away because everyone in the convention center has simulators. I disagree with that however as the Demo Day is open to the public and it was jammed in the afternoon after he left.
The show itself was a huge success and it's definitely not going away. TayorMade was on the only major club company not there and no one knows for sure why that is.
