Not arguing. Just stating that The Bluffs was never on the list of America’s Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Places You Can Play-Yes. Greatest-No.

It’s a perfect course when it’s shining, I think we can all agree. The problem is that everything about the place is a challenge:
1. It’s not off the beaten path....it’s off the beaten path of the beaten path.
2 it’s got not one, but two clubhouses.
3.it might be the most spread out 18 holes that I know. Perfect for keeping tabs on maintenance.
4. It has an archaic hydraulic irrigation system spread out over this massive property that has endless problems.
5. The biggest one: 5 acres (most courses are between 2.5 to 3) of greens. Not just any grass, but typically the most expensive and hardest to maintain, Champion. They are already 20 years old, about the lifespan of greens. But that’s 20 years of serviceable maintenance. Not greens that have been closed twice, neglected many times and just need to be blown up.

He didn’t say it was. Lol. He did not reference anything. It was on a Greatest American top 100 list. Twice. I’m still not sure what the disagreement is for lol.

They will def have to renovate the greens in the next 5 or so years.

The main problem is the younger community left or stopped their membership. You get half the community back and it can run as a private resort.

It and Quail Hollow are two of my favorite layouts I've played down here. Would love for both to make a comeback. But honestly I can't see The Bluffs lasting due to location unless someone bought it who doesn't care about making money. I think Quail could thrive though since it's the only course around McComb.

Played about a month ago. It was in the best shape it has been in in the recent few years. Still has a way to go, but it is in better shape than it's been.

That's good to hear because I played the course in June and it was in the worse shape that I've ever seen it.

Just about every green was lost or close to it. The traps were in bad shape and the overall maintenance to the course was substandard.

Weird. I played it this past winter and the greens were in better shape than anywhere I played in Baton Rouge. They were a bit fuzzy but nothing close to "lost"
