I'm coming into the city for a reunion trip with some old friends in the Spring. Since I'm the most familiar with the city, the group has put me in charge of finding 2 courses to play. The main intent is to eat and have fun, but we'll be playing at least 2 rounds. Naturally, we'd prefer the courses not to be goat ranches, but we also don't want to travel a great deal.
I thought I'd bring the question to the locals. Any recs?

Pick 2. Depending on when you come, TPC may not be available due to Zurich Classic prep.

Audubon - Beautiful scenery and you have magazine street to drink and eat right after.

Bayou oaks - can play, 3 minutes from blue oak and then hit all the bars around there after.

If you play bayou oaks make sure you play the south course. I’ve seen people show up to the north course and look extremely confused

Audubon should be on any list you have. It’s a cool track, lots of scenery, and some history.

I like Audubon. It's a cool course with nice views in a fun part of the city. But if I'm coming all the way to New Orleans to play a couple rounds of golf, I'm not playing a 4,200 yard par 62 course.

If it was strictly a golf trip I’d agree with you. But if I were looking for strictly a golf trip, I wouldn’t be coming to New Orleans.

Chances are it’s a buddies’ drinking and eating and golf trip.

When it’s 90+ degrees and you played Bayou Oaks yesterday and you’re hungover as frick from staying out all night on Sat, Audubon is probably the perfect place to play on Sunday.

I’ve never not had a great time playing at Audubon.

Audubon is a course where you use every club in the bag. It can be a nice change of pace from courses where you hit driver/wedge every par 4. You can even play 36 holes if the course isn’t packed.
