Love my S-3s. The idea here is to blend the S-1, S-3 and S-4s for better players that want forgiveness to increase from bottom of set to the top. Also adds a set that is more forgiving to the S line for higher handicap players that still want a traditional top line at address. When I got fit for my S-3s two years ago they were the most forgiving for front to back dispersion of any set I tested.

Still playing my MP20 blend set and although I would LOVE to get newer clubs, I have found hat new technology does not make that big a difference for me.

My iron fitting this year was with the founder of the company (a guy with incentive to get you to buy new irons) and even he told me that the shaft is the engine that drives the car. If you're playing 10+ year old irons, sure the tech is going to be a little behind, but the shaft matters more than the clubhead.

Totally agree. The MP20's came out in 2019. I had an opportunity to upgrade to the 245s,
but the data was not any better than what I currently hit.
IMO, getting fit with the the right shaft for your swing is essential.

These seem very similar to the S3 performance-wise based on the Cool Clubs comparison. S4 is actually fractionally shorter heel to toe than the S3. Was hoping they would be a little larger, more forgiving, and 32* in the 7 iron to directly compete with the Srixon 7 series personally.

Interesting, several of the reviews I saw said the opposite.
Said that the S4 was a little larger.

They show the comparison on the Mizuno website. Fractionally shorter in 7-PW, essentially equal in longer irons.
Doesn’t seem like a true Srixon 7 series competitor, which should have been the target given the success of Srixon IMO. Misses less than 10mm heel or toe on the Mizuno are losing 10-15 yards on these reviews. On my Zx7 Mkii a 10mm heel or 7mm toe strike feels flushed and goes the same distance +\- a couple yards as out the middle.
The shape is still awesome and better than Srixon so will give it a demo

I have the S3’s 5-PW. Might order the S4 in a 4i since they’re supposed to be a bit more forgiving

Got to hit the S3 today. I thought I would love the shape but the hosel transition is terrible, offset looks massive even though it’s less than the Zx7. Lots of offset + 34* 7 iron equaled high spinny shots that lacked distance. Feel was nothing special. The Wilson Staff CB and MB did everything better IMO - performance, feel, shape, offset (almost none on the MB), forgiveness.
Mizuno has lost the plot on irons IMO. Wilson and Srixon are way ahead.
Their new putters are amazing though, picked up the Osaka S. Also picked up a T1 lob as mine was getting old, love the shape and feel.
