I have a 65 year old friend who is wanting to play golf. He is sending me all kinds of driver links that I am not too familiar with. He needs easy to hit, forgiveness and cheap. Anybody got any recommendations?

Anything made within the last 5-7 years will be pretty forgiving. Check out the callaway preowned website. You can get an Epic driver for under $200 in almost new condition.

Xxio drivers can be found for CHEAP.

Or any of the Tour Edge Exotics stuff. I forget which line designates forgiving but one of their lines is extremely forgiving.

Keep it moving. Don’t hold up the course.

If he’s 65 doesn’t need to spend a bunch on irons. He’s going to be in hybrids soon enough, so might as well start there.

Tell him to look for some used fairway woods for distance and getting the ball in the air. Lots of folks are even playing 9wood and 11wood to help with launch angle and holding greens.

Ping 425 or Sim2Max with any SR shaft will do
I recommend ping 425 fairway woods 3, 5, 7 and 9 wood, easy to hit and get into the air with any SR shaft
Cleveland Halo XL irons 6-GW, with SR graphite shafts, large heads and soles on the club to help get though the turf and in the air.
Cleveland Smart Sole wedges, same as the irons.
