got a 4H and 5H with my set of clubs. I'm fairly decent (for a novice) hitting my other (regular) irons. Are the hybrids intrinsically tougher to hit? Are they preferable to a regular 4 Iron or 5 iron. I don't hit them poorly, but I'm not as consistent with them as I am the 6-9 Irons. Is it just me?
FWIW, I hit my woods pretty well too. Should I ditch the hybrids and go buy a regular 4 and 5 iron or simply stick with it and learn how to hit the hybrids?
What is the point of the hybrid clubs? TIA.

Hybrid is supposed to be very easy to hit.

If you are having this much trouble you need to get it looked at and get numbers.

Hybrids exist to replace your long irons because they are supposed to be easier to hit.

130-150. relatively strait. try to crush it and its going hard right. I'm not booming anything cause I'm trying to slow down my swing and get better accuracy.

fair enough. I'll work on ball position and address. Maybe it just gonna take some work. That's why I was asking. If it just takes more practice, i'm fine with that. But if hybrids were something that came with my set of clubs cause its a marketing thing, I would view that differently. The putter that came with the set was heavy (as putters go). I switched that up and have had more success with my putting.

was wondering the same about the hybrids.

Make sure you line up like an iron and not like a wood or driver, i.e. don't have the ball too far in the front of your stance.

Yes, yes it is. I wish I was proficient enough to strike the ball consistently every time but that’s just another aspect of my game that I’m working on.

Is the loft stamped on the clubs?

A hybrid of same loft as an iron should launch a little higher and land softer. May even carry further if the shaft is longer. I think that is how it works anyway. They will be easier to hit because of how high they launch the ball but not as long of a shaft as a wood.

Rick Shiels has a good video on choosing hybrids and how to gap them with woods and irons.

I would keep them and practice. If you have trouble with them a 4 iron probably won’t be any easier to hit.

I don’t think that’s a good idea for any club. You might be swinging too slow for the hybrid shafts to kick properly. Swing as hard as you can while maintaining balance and staying in posture. If you have to come out of posture early THEN you need to slow down some

It's usually a ball position issue. I carry a 2h and when it starts misbehaving it's because ball position is off.
