Barton Creek is renovating and they’ve limited their rounds to resort guests and members. Horshoe Bay also requires you to be a resort guest/member. Falconhead? Wolfdancer?
Heading that way for Memorial Day weekend. TIA.

I've played Avery Ranch before and was happy with the value and course.
I've visited a couple of times and only once or twice brought the clubs. Seems like a city that it's best to play on your side of Austin. We spent a ton of time in the car driving around getting from place to place.

Big group staying off Rainey for a bachelor party weekend. I'm about to call Barton just to see if they'll be letting public play again in May. Fazio Canyon or Foothills would be nice. Those are first priority. I know someone who helps run the Dell Matchplay there and she says Wolfdancer would be my next best bet, but recent reviews were a little meh.

Wolf dancer is a really nice course. I heard they had trouble with their greens last year, but should’ve recovered.
Avery and Teravista are good courses for the price. You can usually find good deals. Forest Creek is back and a super nice course for the price. All in the Round Rock area.
Falcon head and Grey Rock are decent, but not worth what they charge imo.
If you’re looking for something close to downtown, Austin has decent muni courses. Roy Kizer/Jimmy Clay are both decent and out of the same clubhouse. Easy access from downtown.
Bluebonnet is a decent bargain course and usually have good greens.

A couple not mentioned so far are:
Cimarron Hills in Georgetown (Nicklaus design)
River Place in Austin (Tom Kite design)
Crystal Falls in Leander (budget friendly)

Your schtick is old. How may people have you challenged and how many have you played? I'm not a keyboard golf warrior. I've won 2 State Mid-Ams and was a 4 year letter winner in college. Whereas you are a certified fricking cheater (there is nothing worse than getting this label. Can't be taken away) So if you feel then need to call another person out, I'll be your huckleberry. Otherwise get off the golf board

it always rains on memorial day
some good options already listed. alternates:
other options if it rains, top golf and Rok golf.
LINK
Rok golf is a trackman simulator where you can byob. they have preloaded courses and you can knock out 18 fairly quickly. kind of a neat idea. right next to pinthouse pizza and very close to center of south austin
just in case you need a last minute contingency

Hattiesburg Country Club is a shithole. Thanks for reminding me. On the other half of your diatribe, I wouldn't play you for any amount of money. I don't associate myself with cheaters and wouldn't want to even have you mentioned in the same sentence as me.

Figured that you were scared.

I’m your huckleberry
Edit - I just got the 411 on you - if you played D1 golf, what the hell are you doing playing in a net am event? If you played D1 golf or mini tours you need to suck it up and play straight up in the championship.

it is worth having a backup plan. we have seen historic flooding on memorial day in recent years. then other years it is 90 and sunny. lots of the local old timers will comment that it rains memorial day weekend.
onion creek golf course in southeast austin is nice and a decent price. this or falconhead are probably your best golfnow options.
falconhead is probably my favorite public course. if you can survive holes 2+3 it gets easier. try to remember that on holes 2+3
wolfdancer is really nice but it is really far, probably about an hour. when i go out there we play pine forest. pine forest is a goat ranch, but it is scenic. kind of like playing in georgia with the pine trees.
i worked at grey rock in high school. lots of pots were smoked and beers drank with cart girls. it will always hold a special place in my heart but the course itself is just good. not great, not elite.
south of austin, the bandit in new braunfels is primo. one of the top public courses in texas. la cantera in san antonio is really nice and not that much further than wolfdancer.
