NBC was lamenting the fact that we wouldn't get a Rory/Bryson final group, but this one is far more intriguing.

These 2 guys already hate each other, had issues during the Ryder Cup, and PGA Tour internal politics has probably made it even worse.

Would rather Bryson/Rory and Pavon/Cantlay, so I could completely ignore an entire pairing.

Now, I have to pay attention to both and be subjected to Cantlay and Pavon...

I am sure it will be fine. Rory does dislike Cantlay though.

Would’ve been one of the most exciting final round pairings in a while

Very true. It's going to be a douche fest with that pairing.

Agreed. I think it’s funny when Rory struggles because he can be a little bitch, but there’s nobody out there with his talent. I’ve never seen someone shoot 65 so often where you feel like he didn’t get anything out of his round, including prime Tiger/Scotty. If he comes out today and is aggressive, things could get interesting. Would have been cool AF to see matching 190 ball speeds in the final group.

I think Scottie would disagree...

There are things Rory can do with a golf ball that Scotty doesn’t have the physical ability to do. Scotty is Jerry Rice where Rory is Randy Moss. No doubt Scotty is a better golfer, but he can’t peak a 2 iron at 190 ft for example.

I mean, if we're just talking about hitting random shots, then okay...sure...maybe Rory can hit a few shots that Scottie can't.

But Scottie, as of now, has the most talent on the tour.

If you think the ability to hit higher long irons is just a random shot, you obviously don’t know ball. Also his ability to move the ball both ways off the tee with 15th higher ball speed is just another shot I guess.

Am I a pro, no...but I met random in relation to our discussion.

Look, I like Rory...I'm not saying he sucks. You said he has the most talent...I disagree.

I watched Sergio on the range years ago.

I thought, “this guy will win multiple majors” , as he striped ball after ball on command.

High fade, low fade, dead straight, high draw, low draw.

Just over and over.

I’ve seen this as well. Dude has absolutely legendary range stats but similar career stats to Webb Simpson.

Have a buddy that’s a member at his club here in Austin, Spanish Oaks, and some of the stories are crazy.

Apparently, Sergio and Bryson went out there with nothing but 4 irons and shot par…Bryson might have shot under.

Beautiful house he’s building out there as well.

Cantley has to be the most boring golfer in the history of the PGA. On top of that, he seems like a real a-hole and has an a-hole caddie to carry his bag.

Cantlay looks unwashed.

Nothing about him is appealing.

Normally, I want nobody but an American to win majors, but I'd be fine if Rory beat him. Would still slightly prefer Cantlay over the other foreigners...maybe...I could be convinced to pick Åberg over Cantlay.

The most interesting thing about cantlay was the biggest contradiction in hat sponsors of all time. Having Dewalt and Goldman Sachs as his hat sponsor was great, but alas it is no more.
