It had a run in 2017/2018 where it was in legitimately decent condition. The greens were all solid and it was fun. If Mizzou can have Al Gustin in decent shape LSU should be able to have their course in good shape as well.

A sample size doesn’t matter. You can literally look up the tee time prices on the lsu golf course website. Either way it’s in bad shape and I wish it was better

Are the greens still in terrible condition?
The only 3 that were above terrible were 16, 17 & 18 when I played it early last year.

Close the goat ranch and build PMAC II out there.

Al Michael was the co-designer and was taking care of the course in the early 60's when it opened and well into the 70's if not later...
Mike Johnson was the PGA Pro out there...he's currently the Pro at Santa Maria...
Al Michael is turning over in his grave for what LSU did to his course...
he kept the place perfect back then...

When the course had five or so holes on the front nine east of Nicholson with an abandoned length of railroad track across it in the 1970’s, it cost 50 cents (1/2 of one American dollar and your LSU student ID)) to play 18 holes.

Was bad before pandemic. Was told that the person who donated the land says it cannot be closed to be made a parking lot. Also was told that the LSU turf department can only offer suggestions, cannot touch the course.
The reason it's in the shape it is now is because they cut all funding cause it was gonna be a parking lot. For 3 months nothing was done. Then the board decided to keep course but pandemic hit and they only kept minimal staff. That was the death nail.

Man I played it two weeks ago and was blown away at how bad it was. It had been a couple years since I’ve been there but I remember the grass at least being cut

This town needs another range but it doesn't need that golf course. We just don't have the market to support it. I know everyone wants the students and taxpayers to fund their golf but it just doesn't make sense to have that course.
