Lol what, you mean pro athletes somehow should not have to perform anymore to get paid once they “make it”? If only the real world worked like that.
That's exactly how pro sports work. Baseball and basketball contracts are guaranteed and NFL has guaranteed money as well. You can be the worst player of all time and you still get the money.

Football players get a contract, and then get cut the next year and told to get fricked anyway. And if another team doesn’t want them they can’t do shite about it
In tennis and golf, you don’t have to prove yourself to a GM. If you play well enough, you are in the money. It’s all on you

I don't know. How many players in the NFL? Are they all paid? Did they figure it out? Just saying.

Ok. You are clueless.
How so? Your post was ridiculous.

Do other sports get paid to be in the majors? Golfers don't.
Most individual sports athletes get paid for winning not showing up. Golf, tennis, racing, track and field, etc. Those athletes make their money largely from endorsements, yet the loudest voices in the room (Phil and Norman) have hundreds of millions of dollars and want people to feel sorry for them. FOH
They play fricking golf for a living and have to show up to work less than half the year and can pick and choose when they play.

Guy makes the nfl, signs rookie contract. Makes about 2 million total, doesn’t play that great, and never signs a deal again and there is nothing he can do to prove anything I’d a GM won’t sign him
Yeh, all so guaranteed “once you make it”

So good college players will likely make more than the borderline pro players? NIL

...instead of just finding a way to make the PGA Tour better.
Better?
The players are NOT independent contractors.
PGA restricts the players to 3 exemptions to play anywhere they want(One reason I find the PGA hypocrites on the LIV tour thing).
PGA works with the European tour....players can play both tours, earn points, earn exemptions to majors, make money on a different tour.
The Euro tour is ok with their tour players playing in the LIV tour unlike the PGA.
PGA needs to stop hampering the network coverage, or at least free them up to show more golf. Ex. RBC this weekend was awful. They stuck w/ McIlroy like they did w/ Tiger. Talk about sucking dick.

Pro golfer makes it. Makes nothing
Posted on 6/12/22 at 7:55 pm to lsufball19
Phil is the 11th highest grossing athlete of all time, and he isn’t CLOSE to being the 11th best or most dominant athlete of all time. Golf, and it’s individual nature, is 100% the reason why he made the money he did. That’s the most ironic part in all of this

There's a league minimum, so yes as long as you're in the league, guaranteed

Team sports with owners sure. Individual sports? Nope

Is this true? I kinda figured they'd have similar feelings that the PGA Tour does.

Let’s also look at Rickie Fowler. If Rickie was a football player he would have made 10-20 million or so and now he is selling insurance. You don’t get to hang around football because you are likeable. Being a golfer let’s a guy like Rickie keeping hanging around and making great money while not actually being a top athlete in his sport

If the Saudis want to light money on fire, they’re more than welcome to because no one else on planet earth would pay what they are. Saudis sports washing isn’t how normal businesses work
LIV isn’t proving shite except how much money they don’t care about losing
