I feel like we could easily find threads where that’s what our main argument was. The best players in the world were playing together far less often. I don’t understand how that was good as golf fans. Now they’ll play together more. Solely from a golf fan standpoint, why is that a bad thing?
There are threads everywhere

Our only argument was “who care how much the players make” and “why would we as fans want them playing separately”

That’s it. We were never “evil Saudi money” people. Those people are idiots and always have been

Serious question. Could Tiger and the other pga tour players start a new tour?

Tiger and Rory were the prime movers and shakers behind the mandated elevated events, and Rory didn't bother to show up for an event.

I don’t understand why this bothers so many people. I expect to be compensated when I work. The PGA (not the new entity) is a non-profit. The tour was not paying the players what they should have been. That’s where all of this started.

So if you don't care about the Saudi money and only about the players getting back together, you are hoping they drop any fines and want them allowed back on tour with no suspension or punishment, right?

My guess is they will have some events that look like LIV going forward. 90% of the time, i will look like PGA.

Agreed Would be fun to see them do one team tournament. Have a draft etc.

Im not sure that’s correct. The Saudi’s coming in with unlimited pockets and paying more doesn’t mean they weren’t getting “what they should” from the PGA. They were getting paid 58% of the tours revenue, higher than any other league.

Yes. Jay was a two faced snake in all of this, but he is a huge winner at the end of the day. Sometimes the snake wins

Yeh, how does this fix the “monopoly” angle?

It doesn’t. But you don’t have a plaintiff with LIV merging.

LOL, NO. It all started when Norman found an entity that had unlimited funding to offer enormous contracts to lure some of the PGA players to LIV. No one was really complaining about lack of compensation from the PGA before the Saudis started offering these ridiculous contracts.

Don't think Monahan has long term viability. Personally, Monahan was no doubt highly reimbursed, but the ill will held by LIV Golfers, and now PGA golfers will certainly speed his departure. Monahan was the broker, once the deal is cemented, he's gone.

Would you like to expound?

My goal was for the best players to all be back together and playing golf as we saw before

Was todays news good or bad for that goal above?

Just to help you out, my opinion on the organizational structure of both tours. This is from June, 2022….

I never once cared for which side “won”. I just wanted the split over with

Jack has a viable interest in the commercial success of the PGA Tour, not only with The Memorial Tournament, but as an architect whose firm designs, constructs, and revises Tournament venues. Jack has also been a strong voice for the players while active and retired.

Yet the tour found hundreds of millions to give them in the elevated events.

Every other sport franchise has a stadium, practice facility, team travel expenses, and a ton of other overhead. That’s a silly comparison.
