Play the right tees.
One of our pros told me that 2/3 of golfers play the wrong tee.
In general, play up until you break 90 three times in a row.
To “tip it out”, I think the club house should have to approve.
Most people should be on 1 or 2 up. If you shoot 65 playing up, move back next time.

People that spend more than a minute looking for a ball or groups that don’t play ready golf are annoying.
This right here. Quit taking 10 minutes to look for a ball and play ready golf.

Why do you guys want to leave the course so bad?
Because in the spring and summer I try to play 4 or 5 times a week. I enjoy golf but the majority of my casual rounds are just to get reps.

The number one thing that would speed up and fix the pace of play problem is people teeing off from the correct tee box which corresponds to his or her skill level. 95 % of golfers need to play up one box. 4% need to play up 2 boxes.

Some cards have tees marked by handicap. This should be heavily promoted. You don’t need to play the “men’s” tees at a 20 handicap.
We got stuck behind 2 old guys yesterday. They were playing the 1 ups. They could barely reach the fairway. That can’t be fun for them and wasn’t for us.

Agree with this. $80 course in $30 shape. Still didn’t keep the riff raft away tho.

Played Beaver Creek and a pair of walkers had the course jammed up for the entire back 9. They were waiting for the green to tee off then they’d hit on par 4’s. On the 5’s, they’d wait till group in front would be getting to the green. After putting, one of them would clean his clubs while his partner would be heading to the next box where he would wait for his buddy.

Friday-Sunday rounds recommendations: courses should post yardage to pins on all par 3’s (some type of marker board/etc) on tee boxes. Players can grab their club, and head straight to the box. This will keep players from walking to tee, “measuring” distances, walking back to cart, grabbing a club, and walking back for their shot.
Minimum of 10 minute spacing between tee times, but ideally 12 minute spacing. (Won’t happen though because of lost $)
Courses should post/share “strongly recommended tees” for players based on their typical score for a round.
