Pretty sure I was playing with you if you are who I think you are.

Were you pulling up to the course in a blue green Ford Ranger blaring Kenny Chesney?

#18 - Easiest hole on the course. Straight and approach is fine long or straight.

Sheeeit. 18 should be easy but it eats my lunch. Long par 4, pond right can be deceptively in play .So knowing this usually cause me to hook it OB left. Hate that damn hole. It and 17 have grenaded me many times..

City should have upgraded Chennault instead of wasting all that money on Selman Field back in early 2000's.

Could have been one of the best public courses in the state.

Curious how things turned out for you and what you thought of the course?

Dang I meant to update..

Went ok, not as good as I would wanted but finished 8th with an 80.

Putting and chipping let me down. I was striking the ball really well but just could not make a putt. Made the mistake of playing a course with fast greens two days before and I left about 100 puts short. Literally every putt that mattered I left short.

On the second par 5 on the front (6?) I had a 30 foot eagle putt and three putted

Had so many just easy as can be green side chip shots that should have just resulted in tap ins but instead were missed 7 footers. I don't think I missed any putts inside six feet but just couldn't make anything longer than that because they were so slow. They weren't jumpy or bad greens, just slow.

Overall the course was not nearly as bad as I was expecting based on what everybody was saying. I mean it is probably the worst course we'll play on the schedule but I learned how to play on Querbest/city course so I have a soft spot for city courses trying hard to be in good shape. Reminded me of Querbes a lot actually where it's just stay out of the tress and you'll be ok.

Should have been a 76 based on how I drove the ball and hit irons but it did bump me up into the "if the season ended today I'd make the ryder cup team" standings so I can't complain. I was the only one I talked to that hadn't played the course so a practice round would have been nice but o well.

I referred to this post numerous times during the round on the way to the next tee box so thanks for that

That awesome man! Glad that I/we could help. I'd be happy with 80 out there without a practice round for sure. The greens are slow and the breaks just look like they will break, but rarely do.

Every shorter putt I just banged it into the back of the cup. No break at all. Worked perfect.

I had this though on my final hole (#2) as well. But it was a 15ft birdie putt and I just told myself straight in firm. Putt was dead center all the way, and a few feet before the cup my playing partner said "great putt", and then it immediately went right a little and did a almost 360 around the cup. He jinxed me Everybody in the group gave him a hard time for calling it early.
