by tightening/tensing up my chest and forearms (not grip) before and during the shot. Seems to keep everything connected and stable, and I'm making crisp contact again with no yips anywhere to be found. Have been getting up and down from everywhere the last couple rounds with good form like old times which hasn't been the case for years. Such a good feeling.

Stay tuned for my post in 2 weeks about how they came back again like a COVID variant...

Ben hogan's advice on his feeling in his set up helped me in all parts of my game, including chipping.

The feeling is that you are tightly squeezing your upper arms into the sides of your chest.

This seems to be the exact swing feel you have right now, and staying connected helps you make solid and consistent contact. Congrats on defeating the yips.

This is exactly the feeling that I happened to stumble on recently, and it's made all the difference. Good shite, thanks!

This sounds like what Kisner was trying to teach Borelli. Swing with body more than arms

When I teach people this is what I preach to them… the golf swing is made with the big muscles in your body… legs, back, chest… I try to get them to understand the feeling of hitting the ball with their chest and let the arms come along for the ride

Was this in Five Lessons?

It's been WAY TOO LONG since I've reread his book. Looks like I'll have to dust off my copy. Years ago, I'd keep a copy right on my toilet and would read a passage or two while taking a dump. When I moved I just put the book somewhere in my house. I'll have to find it or buy a new copy.

It’s in Five Lessons. Just pulled it back out the other day for a refresher. I was becoming disconnected, and that passage seared into my brain.

Swing with body

I guess different swing thoughts work for different people. Anytime I hear "swing with your body", I immediately think of someone swaying off the ball which is obviously no bueno (and a lot of new golfers probably do too). While I know that it really means stay connected and rotate, actually thinking about rotating instead of just naturally doing it totally throws off my timing and contact and everything else.
