The enlargement of 3 and 17 greens were the only 2 things I recall ever being done

Hurricane Betsy renovated #6 in 1964. There was a monster oak tree in the dead center of the fairway, about 30 yards past the ditch, and you had to play left or right of it, you weren't going over it.
Also 6 green is 30 yards further back than it once was.

Well, you should have played that hole right- handed

There was (and I haven’t played Webb in 15+ years) a huge oak tree on the front right side of the green. A draw, from a right handed, would be fighting the tree.

Possible that tree has been removed and if so I stand corrected lol. But back in the day it was a beast.

You had to hit a high fade
The tree was in play and any push was trouble.
But too far left was the creek.
Short but tight little hole.

I was joking about the right- handed bit, because I thought from your screen name you might be Mike Drury, who is a lefty. There was a tree left of the green on the creek bank at one time that might have affected a leftie's draw.

The only thing I got out of that was, when in the hell is it too cold to play golf in South Louisiana
