My high school team used to practice out there. I caught a bit on TV today. Looks completely different.
Did they flip 2 and 9? Damn, I need to get back down to Houston and check it out.
The golf course has been redesigned. 9 is the same green, but a par 3. The old 2 no longer exists.

6 also has no water now. 8 used to be a par 4.5 (real par 5) and now is a beast. Haven't played there since the redesign but am intrigued.

Watching the replay on golf channel right now. Great to see spectators back, but I did not
Miss the stupid shouts/shouting after a tee shot during the Covid crowd bans. Why do spectators feel the need to yell shite after a tee shot?

Was Brooks Koepka really good at some point? I feel like he is always a featured name but every tournament I've seen he always seems to do poorly.

They have done a remarkable job with the course, it is a real showpiece now.
Jim Crane deserves a lot of credit for having this vision and keeping the PGA Tour in Houston.
So far I haven't been able to get a tee time there online, I can't wait to play it when things die down.

Played there in the late spring, and the big takeaway for me was that the green complexes were the only defense but it was significant defense. The layer under the green felt different with my pitch mark tool than anywhere I’ve ever been. It was rocky or crunchy feeling and I remember thinking that these greens could probably get super fast and hard as they likely drain well. I figured scores would be high given how dry it’s been and yesterday did not disappoint.

Yep
Lets just say those greens do not help your score one bit

I didn’t even realize they had finished
Looked like they still had a bit to go from the outside when I played there 4 weeks ago. I was curious if it'd be ready in time.
