The only scores I do not enter are rounds where I say beforehand that I'm not going to

How often do you guys say "i'm not going to enter this round", then go shoot the lowest round of your life . I've had those days where it gets close.

I mostly know I'm not going to enter a round. I will admit I've made a change in my decision after the first tee box

Thanks for the rec. I will probably do the Louisiana one next year. Looks like a lot of fun.

I'm in A flight in the North Louisiana tour. Can confirm that it is a blast. Last year was my first year and despite my handicap being a 3.5 going in, my tournament handicap was a 7. Part of that was not knowing virtually all of the courses but part was also nerves and previously counting rounds that I fluffed lies and didn't finish out gimmies. You get no breaks in tournament golf

This year I've settled in, know the courses better and practice like it's a tournament. Top 3 in my flight so far.

The tour also has a end of season Ryder Cup event verses the Dallas tour. made the team last year and that was probably the most fun golf event I've ever done.

The good thing about the tour is you are playing verses players of your skill level. If you play good enough to drop your handicap you move up a flight, if you play not so great and your handicap drops you go down a flight. So you're always playing a fair field, no real chance of people sandbagging. I want to play well enough to go to champ flight because that means my game is better but also don't because there's a guy in champ flight with a +5 tournament handicap. He used to play pro. I almost feel bad for champ flight because you have +1 to 3 handicaps that are virtually playing for second every event.

But it's fun regardless of your handicap. The D flight players have just as much fun, probably more, than the champ flight.
