Looking into getting some lessons and club fitting in BR. They have 69 minute swing eval, 5 lessons,5 practice sessions, and a club fitting for $495. Is this a pretty good deal and place for a fitting? Never had a golf lesson in my life and played a good bit this year, looking to get better and play more this year

All I can tell you is they made the game much more enjoyable for me. I've gone from a guy who shot 110 to a legit 18 handicap. Yes, I am still considered a high handicapper, but I really think I am poised to break through this year.

Thanks yeah I’m looking to hopefully get better and get a new set of clubs. Have a used set I picked up for $100 which was good for starting out, but trying to get a decent set since I’ve been playing a good bit more

I’ve played most of the courses in Baton Rouge area, don’t have a membership to a course or anything. Just have been playing a lot with the guys from work, and we usually try to play a new course each time

Your coach is crucial. I got more out of 5 lessons wth one coach than I got out of 25 with the first I had. Choose wisely

Unfortunately, this ^^^^ is the key. One GolfTec does not necessarily equal another. If possible, get recommendations or look for reviews. Important to get someone who really knows what they are doing.

I would spend some time with James Leitz, that would be money well spent. Fantastic coach

I’m gonna bump this instead of starting a new thread.

Anyone care to comment on who the good coaches are at the BR Golftec?

Keep us informed on our progress. Hell, nothing can hurt right?

I am on the cusp of totally quitting for EVER, so if you have a glimmer of improvement, I will listen.

I went to a swing evaluation last Friday. The coach changed 3 things about my swing. Head up, open my stance, left knee forward. I went from hitting my 7 iron 160ish to 180+... and straight.

Just went through my swing eval, and I enjoyed it. The coach worked really well with me.
My grip needed tweaking and keep my lower body steady by focusing on keeping my left hip on my original address line and allowing my left knee to bend outward in order to get more rotation.
Might not work for everyone, but after one lesson/evaluation, he made me excited to go back.
