In the past I have gotten the normal bland footjoy standard golf shoe. I bough a pair of Nike's on clearance a couple years ago, and don't really like them. I have recently just started wearing some comfortable regular tennis shoes while playing. I'd like to get some new golf shoes that are similar to regular tennis shoes, but I don't want to pay out of the arse. It's seams that golf shoes are really expensive. There are some that are affordable for a poor like me. I am just not sure if they are crappy, and that's why they are cheaper. I wouldn't mind paying between $100-$120. I'd rather stay under $100.

I really like the sketcher go elite 3 and right at $100. I had the adidas boa earlier this year and liked them but wore holes in the heels pretty quickly. Before that I had footjoy DNA 2.0 and they were solid but the plastic bottom separated from the shoe. Nike lunar control 3s and sketcher go elite 3 are my personal favorites.

I always swore I would stay away from what my grandfather called "tennis shoes trying to be golf shoes" but that being said I won a pair of footjoy DNAs a couple of years ago and they have been awesome.

I bought these Ecco Cage Sport golf shoes just a few weeks ago. Their price varied widely by site and size. I was able to find these online for about $119.
I really like them.

I kind of did too. Until I started to see all of these tennis shoe type golf shoes, and I like them. The nike's I bought are just ugly and too small for me now. I started wearing my UA tennis shoes, and it was just more comfortable, especially with all the walking. I haven't had any issues with traction, but i haven't played on any wet courses either.

Depends on when you play. I play 90% of the time in the morning so my shoes have to have two things, traction and waterproof. I hate playing with wet feet. I have some Calloway that I've been using for the past two years only cost me $60.

I have footjoys and adidas that I won. Are ok, nothing special. But I bought a pair of sketchers slip ons for around the house shoe, not for golf. And they are some comfortable shoes. Next pair of golf shoes I buy will be sketchers.

Currently sporting my first pair of "tennis shoe" style golf shoes. Took a chance on a cheaper pair of these Pumas and have been really enjoying them through ~15 rounds.

Have always been curious about Ecco, but I don't understand the sizing. Also, are they built for wide feet?

I have wider feet and have problems with shoes that do not support me. I used to roll my ankles a lot with improper shoes.

I tried Nike golf shoes and they never felt comfortable. The Adidas I have now were on clearance at Academy so I decided to give them a try and have been pleasantly surprised.

I have not tried the Ecco shoes

They've been great for me and they're only $80. They definitely run small though if you order online and don't get a chance to try a pair on first.

i have a pair of the ecco cage sport, though they're about 5 years old or so ... they were def not $100 when i bought them ... they are a solid shoe, but since i bought them i've become a monthly member at rtj, so i play primarily in the morning while walking and need a fully leather shoe ... bought another pair of eccos ... i believe they do make them in a wide version, but cannot state that for fact ... if you don't walk or play early with the dew out, that'd be a good price for them ...

just as a psa, if you buy shoes with replaceable cleats, buy extra cleats when you buy the shoes ... don't wait till they need replacing, because by then a few of them will be damned near impossible to get out ... check em every now and then and replace one or two at a time as needed ...

i've learned that the hard way ...
