Last year an Army buddy and I met up in Memphis for a weekend of golf. 18 on Friday, 36 on Saturday.

We are talking about doing it again this year but may choose a different location. Any of you guys have a recommendation?

Memphis was just about 8 hours for both of us... so either of us or both would be willing to drive 10-12 hours.

RJT Trail is probably a good option for a drive for both of you all. He can take 65 down and you can drive over.

Southern Indiana has some world class courses that you can get on, too, if you can get up there.

Wait until this fall and go to Branson, MO. Tigers course is opening and I imaging that should be pretty close to halfway

Very good advice. I went there for thanksgiving and it was great.

There is no way it will be ready by next fall. They are still carving out mountains. No chances they have grass down this spring. I was told more likely it will open fall 2020.

However, Ozark national is open as well as Buffalo Ridge and Top of the Rock. All of them are in the same complex as Tofer’s new place. All owned to Big Cedar Lodge/Bass Pro. Top notch places. There is a lot for the families to do if that is a concern.

Well shite, I read it was supposed to be done this fall. That sucks, I heard it's going to be awesome and I want to go up there and play it along with the others at BCL

I know. The website is still saying Fall 19. You can see the course from buffalo ridge and there were dump trucks hauling off ROCK.

They should update the website. I’d hate to book a trip and it ain’t open. Don’t let it stop you from going to BCL though.

Thanks guys! We may look at Branson and incorporate the families for a vacation with golf instead of just a weekend thing.

Go for the cabins instead of one of the lodges. Your family can be alone at night without being in a complex, and they bring you fresh firewood each day. We heated our cabin with just a fire when it was 30 out. The kids loved sleeping on the couch pull out in front of the fire.

There is also full kitchen and bathrooms and a deck with a gas grill.

Which cabins did you stay at? We will be going in the summer while the kids are out of school so not sure how much we will need a fire.

We were at Big Cedar Lodge. If you want to go this summer you may (may) be too late for booking already. Try to get into the Devils Pool cabins or the ones in the back (lakeside hall?). There is another pool back there. There is a shuttle that takes you around the resort so it doesn't matter. Any cabin will do.

I would prefer ones farther away from the main area. It's quieter.
