Dumbest Gimmick I've ever seen:
Contractor placed a 5 gallon bucket 75 yards from the Tee Box and had each competitor hit with a left handed club... If you landed in the bucket you got $100.
I told the dude... You could have 100 tour players hit that shot right handed and maybe not give away the $100.
For a left handed shot that should have been a car giveaway!!

Our high school golf team did something similar. Our best approach player was on a par 3 and our longest / best driver was on a par 5.
$10 got you on the par 3 and if you didn't take his shot you didn't pay.
$10 bucks got you a sleeve of balls on the par 5 and he could hit all 3 if you wanted. $30 got you a dozen balls but the most he would hit is two sleeves.
Those prices were per player. I don't remember how many balls were hit and all the balls were donated (I believe they were Titleist NXt but it has been some years and I don't remember). But I believe we raised like $1,500 just on those two holes. They only did that tournament once or twice though and that year had the best turnout.

I play in a charity event at Eastlake each year and on one of the Par 3s, you are forced to wear these glasses that effectively make you blind. Basically no one makes good contact with the ball. I can't remember what closest to the pin wins

A free throw. I throw my opponent's ball in a water hazard.
