I had mixed feelings about the new format, but now that the first round is over, I like it.
Three tied for the lead at -10. East Lake is playing tough with the high bermuda rough and slick greens.

If the result would have been ANY different, I think the PGA would be taking a beating right now.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the tourney plays out but call it a success on day one. Unless of course you're in the bottom 15.

I was vocal that I don't like the new format... after the first round it's not too bad I guess. It didn't feel like it would be a great idea but after round 1 it just seems like any other tournament. I'll eat my crow.

And it's not smack dab in the middle of the start of the football season. Really liking what they did this year with the new formats.
