Thinking of making the trip this year. Been to a few tour events, Masters, Players, Waste Management and East Lake always has intrigued me.

Pretty easy flight to ATL, drove by EL once on way to Augusta and seems pretty assessable.

Tickets about $100 parking $20.

Anyone attend and have any suggestions for where to stay or general tips (rent car/ride share/hotels, etc)?

Might just attend the Sunday round (no cut) understanding its not like a regular event with 140 golfers and probably goes by pretty quick. Thanks

Should be fun. I played it last year during Master's week and I am playing it again next April. Great course. Sorry, I don't have any info on the tournament, but I needed to brag a little. If you saw my old golf game, you would just laugh and ask why is he playing there.

Won't be playing it in April. They are closing the course for a year after the Tour Championship for a full renovation/restoration.

It is an enjoyable tournament to attend. Easy to walk the course and get between holes. The only drawback is the smaller field.

Yep, they are closing right after this year's championship and won't open again until next year's. There won't be member play for an entire year. It is one of the easier tournaments to watch as a spectator. Lots of good viewing locations.

It’s a great event, not crowded, not expensive and you are very close to the best players in the game.

Bobby Jones used East Lake as his model for Augusta, and you can see why.

Haven’t been in years but last time I did the shuttles getting out of there were a nightmare. IIRC, the majority of the parking was at the old GA Dome

Having been to several events, including this one, I would actually not recommend it. 30 golfers doesn’t make for a great viewing experience. It’s short and over before you know it. Also the starting differential eliminates half of the field.

Better off trying to go to a major or elevated event.
