I was at the Santa Maria short game area off of the tee box for #10 this morning at 7 a.m. At 7:30 a.m. a group came off of #9 and then tee'd off of #10. They were probably done by 8:30.

Just played by myself on a 6600 133 slope course. I got through the first 14 in about 1hr 45 and then got stuck behind a 3some and played the next 4 holes in about 45 mins.

Still 2 1/2 hrs is a pretty fast round IMO

shot 78 btw

They were all nice and cordial but they stayed right on our arse the entire round. You can't help but feel rushed in that scenario and it doesn't make for a great round of golf when you're pressured out of your normal routine.

Solution. Let them play through. It’s so simple.

I hate slow play so i usually play around 7 am on the weekends. Usually play 4 and we play about 3.5 and under per round. My dad plays 3 times a week and they literally fly around the course and it’s not even enjoyable to me. When I’m older and play 3-5 times a week, speed will be the goal. I’m on the course once a week usually and i want to enjoy my time out there.

I can’t stand feeling rushed on every course, impossible to play well.
