Yes. The downside to camera systems is if you have lefty friends. Radar is the best option unless you go 10k+ and get an overhead camera system.

Also: Another trash LM coming to market:

All you need is: used r10 + a net + flight deck hitting pad + already owned ipad. ~650

Guaranteed you will enjoy it.

Add in some friends, beer, and the LSU baseball game and someone will upgrade to a better system.

suBteN, what are your thoughts on the Mevo+?

(I'm not a Mevo expert. Actually don't know too much)

Awesome device and their fusion tracking is impressive.
Best device if you need lefty's but can't/don't want to spend 10K on an overhead system.
(The amount of fun you can have you might actually justify it especially if kids are involved. Overhead = the best. period.)

It's really impressive device overall. Cost + features + new features.

Here is why it sucks:
Shitty firmware(s)
Poor putting
Muted left and right spin
Increased ball speed.
Poor short chipping (Tho I think this is somewhat fixed)

I'm so good on my friends Mevo+. Everything is so straight.

No one is top of the leader board with a mevo. Everyone is trying to off load theirs for a referb BLP it seems these days. 3k
The joke is "friends dont let friends buy a mevo+"
It's endless crying with the users (mostly and especially if you are scratch+ better)

One thing is for sure... you don't change your swing based on mevo+ metrics. You enjoy it and have a good time.

Great device. Get a used skytrak instead unless you have to play with lefties.

I think a referb blp for ~3k and 250$ a year might be the best bet these days. That or a used gc2 2600 and no subscription fees.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints right now with their new update causing bad reads, especially with driver. It seems to be a frequent thing with them with updates since the initial launch. That being said, its the best option in that price range if you don't want a camera based LM. The camera based units (skytrak & foresight) are easy to set up and have much less to worry about with interference and accurate reads, but they do require moving the unit if you have both lefties and righties playing.

I am a lefty so camera-based devices next to the ball aren't options for me.

I do find the Golf Simulator review crowd to be so unbiased that you never hear anything critical about any of the devices...and they all want to give you a discount code.

The blp/gc3 is so portable if you build a dock on each side of the mat its easy to flip back and forth.

People also play the entire hole before switching to the next person.

I have thought about that...but still think the experience will be lacking.

How do overhead LM's compare to good camera based systems?

Just as good. The best part you don't have to worry about damage to the unit. HUGE.

The impact camera replay is the best. Nothing can beat the accuracy actual video of the ball hitting the club face.

In matches people hit a massive shank and we ask WTF? They put the replay on their video and we laugh every time.

I believe uneekor has the best impact replay but both are amazing.

You also hit off-center I think.

It's a big investment but so worth it. Yes they are very accurate. +- 50 rpm side spin. Skytrak is +- 250 side spin and when you are scratch + that can be a lot.

Someone made a video for you Chicken!

LINK

Lefty problems no more!

Make the better player hit over it. Only downside you need the room to do it.

Add a shank tank for $125 and you are golden.

I guess that would make me stand further back from the ball

What are the dimensions of the room? Could you put up two nets with launch monitor in the middle? Lefty hits to one net, righty hits to the other.

I think people do the opposite and put them against the wall when they get 2. 1 net with 2 LM both pointed at the screen. Yes it can be done with the GC2. Not sure about the gc3. Only reason would be a friend coming over with his bc you wouldn't buy 2 because overhead is better.

OH nevermind. 2 nets you would still have to turn the device i think?
