If you're driving stop at Pine Dunes on your way. One of the best values and best public courses in TX

The Golf Club at Champions Circle is Fort Worth is the only course that I have played in the area.
Pretty nice layout and is about $75 weekend rate.

Grapevine Golf Course has 36 holes and is always in decent shape for under $75. North of DFW airport.
Stevens Park in southwest downtown Dallas is great but can get crowded.
Riverside Golf Club in north Grand Prarie might be worth checking out.
Indian Creek or Coyote Ridge in Carrollton can be done for ~$75.
Firewheel Golf Park up in Garland has 54 holes but it usually slammed on the weekends.

Man, if you’re doing a “golf trip” loosen up the purse strings a little. You can play decent golf courses at home for less than $100. If you’re gonna travel several hours for the express purpose of playing golf, why not ,within reason, play the best course you can? Or play one “value” course and one primo course?
How about Old American ($150 on weekends) and The Tribute ($129)?

Can be had for less than $100 if you play in the afternoon.
Also, I love when people just tell other people to spend more money. Using other people's money is one of the easiest thing to do.

Hey, we’re all on a budget of some kind, but if 12 guys ostensibly have the disposable income to cover travel to Dallas, stay in a hotel for multiple nights, have meals and entertainment for multiple days, then cut back on something else and put the money into the golf. I didn’t suggest tripling his golf budget, but what’s the difference in the big picture between $200 for two round of golf and $275 if it makes the experience better? If they can’t afford that, then probable shouldn’t take the trip to begin with.

Playing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so not looking to spend $150 on golf per day. Splitting an Airbnb with 12 guys will be pretty inexpensive. Live a couple hours away from Dallas and are just looking to play some different courses but not break the bank. Some in the group, including me, aren’t good enough to justify spending $150 plus on a round of golf.

If you’re trying to stay in dallas proper, cedar crest is a good option.
Doesn’t have the bells and whistles, but it’s a solid layout and always in good condition.

Cowboys will cost $180, but that includes all the food (on and off course) and non alcoholic drinks. If you bring your own booze and have lunch and dinner there, it's actually not too bad. In my opinion, it's the best public course in DFW.
Grapevine Muni
Indian Creek (Creeks Course)
Pecan Hollow in Plano is one of my favorite courses in the area. It has some of the best greens in North Texas and it's a muni.
ETA: Steven's Park. Not my favorite, but a lot of people rave about it.

Funny you ask... I played there for the first time last weekend, and I loved it. I thought it was a fantastic golf course that I could play everyday. I would much rather play there than Trinity Forest. Trinity Forest did nothing for me.
