Any recent play on Cypress Bend? In the area in 3 weeks. How are the changes? Greens good? Should I play Sam Rayburn instead?? Thanks

I have not played, but friends say it is still in good shape. Greens are still really firm. If you have time, I would play both.

Cypress Bend is in great shape! Only 1 bad green (13) but the rest a fast and roll true. Still a little firm as they are still new but that doesn’t change playability much. LOVE the changes they made to the course!

Sam Rayburn is also nice, but I’ll play Cypress Bend over Sam Rayburn 9 out of 10 rounds.

Played Thursday and Friday. There's three greens that are iffy, plugged. Other than that, it's in good shape. The remake of the par 5's 9 and 10 are alright. Didn't know they redid 8 also, pretty hole like 17 is by the lake. It was cart path only, brutal. If you can play both, I would.

That’s good to hear. I played a few weeks ago and there were 3 or 4 greens in pretty bad shape, and one par 3 green was basically unplayable.

Layout is really cool. I kind of like how the tee boxes are a little offset on some of the par 5s. It forces you to hit the perfect line of hit the right shape.

I honestly didn’t realize how how much elevation change there was out. Plays with your depth perception a good bit.

Rayburn is in good shape. Little chance of rain this week will help it dry out around the greens. It’s getting a lot of play.

I played it labor day weekend and it was fine. 1 temp green. 9 maybe? I like the changes.

Played it two weekends ago and I thought it was still in solid shape. Another draught is definitely hurting them but I love the layout and what they did with the course. My biggest gripe would be they still have some areas on the greens/fringes that are legit sand holes with grass cup plugs work in progress. So much so our tournament group had to say if one of them was in your line you could drop it to the side. As far as views and scenery, I think it is the best in Louisiana.

Dang. Is it like that on quite a few holes?

I haven't played since the renovation. Looking forward to seeing the changes. Such a beautiful property. It'd be my luck they punch the greens the week of the tournament.

I played two rounds there and never had to move my ball to putt nor did anyone in my group. its definitely on a handful of greens but I wouldnt call it a big issue as long as they get it under control.
