My buddy has been gaming a fake scotty for about a year that I knew about but didn't have the heart to tell him that I suspected it was fake. He is pretty good with it and he got it for free from one of our neighbors who sells clubs he buys from China.
He got a real scotty from his wife for Christmas and that is when I let him know. We had a mutual friend who checked it out, and you could easily tell because the ports for the weights at the bottom had no threads.
My buddy was a little upset with me for not telling him earlier, but (1) he didn't spend any money on it and (2) he putted pretty good with it, so I figured that there was no point to let him know I was suspicious. Honestly, he putted better with the fake then the new one his wife got him from Carl's Golfland.

I knew a kid that bought (as it turns out) counterfeit titleist ap2 irons years back. They looked awesome but the shafts slowly bent after a few days of hitting.

You guys have lost your collective minds if you think you can tell a difference from a good counterfeit club and a real one.
Plenty of YT videos showing the difference. Feel and looks can be about right, but the counterfeit drivers SPIN like crazy. Irons spin was all over the map depending on the counterfeit.
Hence my suggestion to hit it side by side on a LM and compare if OP fears he gets a counterfeit.

This is the right answer.
I actually agree with BigApple that your average amateur won’t be able to tell if they don’t have anything to compare it to. They’ll just think that’s what the club is supposed to feel like (not including an ex-pro like lifshoals).
Go hit them with real ones from a store on their launch monitor to compare feel/numbers, then you’ll know for sure.
