Maybe they can redo the hole now.

Not too much they can do. They can move the tee boxes more left where those trees are and build up the fairway to keep the ball from going through. That is about it. What else can they do?

I recall Cliff telling me that in the mid 00’s they were going to move the clubhouse over, change the layout of 18 and expand the practice chipping green with an approach area. They had the money and all the approvals and at the last minute bailed on it

They are doing the chipping area. I cannot imagine how you move the clubhouse though.

OCC might argue, but it has more value socially in Lafayette than it does good golf.

LT is the superior place for just golfing.
But if you want some good games and bump shoulders with Lafayette socialites, then go to OCC.

Some pics from today. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be, but still going to be a long recovery. The fuel from the plane killed all the grass. I thought there would be a deeper hole but it’s mostly top level damage.

They put a range mat in front of the impact zone and made it a 150-ish yard par 3 for now if you want to play it. They told us to just put down a 4 for the hole if you are doing a handicap round.

Dang. Was it crowded out there? I almost thought about going out there for lunch but decided against it.

It was normal traffic for a Sunday morning round with decent weather. We played a foursome in about 3:45.

Very surreal walking around that spot on 18 knowing someone tragically and suddenly died right there a few days ago. We all stopped for a minute on 18 in silence and just said a prayer.

The other weird thing yesterday was that I have never seen so many planes taking off on a Sunday. It was one after the other for at least 2 hours straight. Small planes, private planes, commercial jets, everything. We all said we felt a little weird/nervous every time a small plane was taking off.

course looks to be an excellent shape and a nice moment there to pray for the gentleman, was hard watching those initial videos knowing his body was in that wreckage

It's in awesome shape right now, they finally got the greens back rolling to what we're used to. The rough is still a little too long/thick but all the rain has thrown off their mowing schedule.

It's actually just a grass field where the pool was. The pickleball courts were made out of 2 tennis courts.
