What exactly is the true golf fan supposed to enjoy and appreciate about a watered down product with diluted fields?

How much of the last LIV event did you tune in for two weeks ago when they played in Oregon?

The Saudi PIF fund, the one backing LIV, has a piece of the PGA Tour Fan Shop

This is misleading... The PIF has a stake in Fanatics which has contracts with the PGA tour to license the name. And has since well before the PIF involvement

About as ridiculous as bitching and moaning about where the money comes from in the first place

My gripe about the money is that .. It is state subsidized. The PGA Tour is competing against the country of Saudi Arabia.. I would suspect that if you were in X business and China said we are going to subsidize our business to not make a profit and undercut yours.... You would be as pissed as the PGA Tour is

Yep. Especially when it’s funded by oil profits made through market manipulation to the detriment of the rest of the world.
Why anyone would be on the side of that team is very puzzling. I said before if it was a US or European private start up I would say let the best tour win as long as they aren’t changing the game too much.

That genie has been out of the bottle for over 50 years. It's like arguing against the cotton gin because it eliminates jobs

It’s hard to say what needs more work, your short game or your use of analogies

while i don't disagree - our airlines fight for international business against state subsidized airlines / our manufacturing sector fights against the Chinese in basic slave labor - this is geopolitics.

This is why you must innovate

The PGA tour is tax exempt. Do you consider that to be fair?
