Anyone on here have an opinion about the Calvert Crossing course and/or being a member?

I personally hate the golf course. Everything about it.
However I do know several folks that live out there and seem to enjoy it.
But I frickin hate that course.

Calvert is a good club.
The course is a challenging layout. It is 25 years old and needs some work to the outer edges of the rough.
It has a laid-back attitude and doesn’t pretend to be more than what it is. Pretty easy to find a game in a big group on the weekends,
The course is currently for sale so hopefully the next owner pumps some life back into the course.

It’s just the golf course for me. I don’t like the layout. It feels goofy/awkward to me. I don’t ever seem to enjoy playing it.
I have nothing against the people or general membership organization.

Isn't it owned by Troon Golf? I know a couple of members. I think it attracts the I like to golf but not love to golf crowd, which means they aren't the type joining BDCC or Squire. I would think some Calvert guys might be Squire guys as well though. I am not a huge fan of the layout either, so I rarely push my buddies for an invite, but it seems to be in decent shape every time I play it.

This is me. It's a nice enough course but it just doesn't fit my game. Kinda like Cypress Bend (haven't played it since the re-do though).

Same golf course architect.
Not a course for bombing it off the tee. Several holes require target golf and it does not offer very many flat lies. It will test your game.
