Callaway Ai Smoke Heavenwood

I have a Ping G430 and a Callaway Ai Smoke Heavenwood. The ball just feels so much more explosive coming off of the AI smoke as compared to my driver. I can only assume the Eleyte is even better?

I hit the elyte and G440. Went with driver and and 3 wood in G440. I don’t think you’d get much different performance out of either one. They are both great. The G440 just felt better in my swing. I’ve been getting upper 150 ball speeds with my G440 max 3 wood carrying around 250. It’s hot and easy to hit.
Sorry. Just noticed you said you had a G430. The elyte is a great wood as well. Like I said the G440 just felt better weight wise to me. I didn’t have much difference in either as far as performance.

I have the driver...now you want me to spend more for the 3 wood????...
this is entirely getting out of hand...

as a follow up I'm hearing good things about those that have procured the Elyte driver...

lol. I have the G440 LST. It’s hot too. I find that ping and Callaway have the best driver and fairway woods on the market right now and it’s not that close. Of course everyone’s swing is different but to me they were a good bit ahead of everyone else.

How can the upgrade cycle be every year?
I guess I’m too cheap for this game.
We are now at $1000 for a driver with a select shaft.
What is the limit for upgrade cycle?
My current driver is 2022 Cobra LTDx.
Is it past time?
I’m an 11.6 and not a big hitter.
10/14 fairways yesterday.
What sort of distance and dispersion improvements can be expected year over year for these expensive clubs?

Nothing on max distance.
No one is saying you need a new driver every year.
I just bought a GT3 last year and I would expect to keep playing that at least another 4-5 years. Eventually the face will wear out and will need to be replaced.

If you crack one within a certain timeframe, I’ve heard most manufacturers will send you a head.
I had a friend who cracked some sort of Taylor Made driver a few years ago and they sent him one of the new heads.

Some years they make small changes. I played my TaylorMade RBZ stage 2 driver and 3 wood for 15 or so years. Last year I picked up a used G425 max driver form 2nd swing. Never quite felt right. Turns out it was cut short and a bigger weight was added to it. I gained quite a bit of speed with the G440. And the 3 wood was definitely a lot hotter than my RBZ. I would say maybe every couple of years take yours to a fitter and test it agains the new ones. But at this point I don’t think there will be a year where we’ll get a club that’s an absolute game changer. It seems a couple of years ago woods got a lot more forgiving but gave up a few yards. Now it seems like clubs are a little hotter but the same forgiveness.
