Bounce for wedges?

I mainly play beaver creek, copper mill, Carter plantation, the island, etc...When using club selectors on various wedge websites, they ask for the firmness of the ground you are hitting off of. I always assumed firm, but was looking for others opinions on what you would consider the firmness level of courses around baton rouge..

Depends on the weather and how much rain we get.
I play v-sole wedges for this very reason. Decent off of had pan/firm conditions and superior on “normal” conditions

Who makes a v sole wedge? Never heard of them

Scor wedges have a V Sole.
Edison wedges have a dynamic sole that is very versatile. Very underrated wedge.
The Titleist/ Vokey rep once told me that most amateur golfers don't use enough bounce in thier wedges fwiw.
I just got a set of the new Taylormade M4 wedges with average bounce, they will certainly pick it off a tight lie.
It really depends on what type of shots that your are trying to pull off.
A standard sole works well off of firm lies.

My main two scoring wedges (54 and 58) are both 12* bounce. My club keeps it pretty tight on the green surrounds and the bounce helps me more than it hurts me. It’s also better from further back where the lies are “normal” or even fluffy. If it’s crazy tight, the better option is usually to chip with a PW or putt anyway. Unless you’re a low handicap with impeccable touch, play more bounce.

I’ve been picking a 4 degree T grind off the deck of these ranches that line the bayou.

More bounce = more forgiveness

If I hit a really poor shot. I can probably bounce it 5 feet or so

Edison is sort of a universal bounce idea.

I use scor wedges.
Eidolon may be another with similar approach.
It sure TM still offers ATV grind, but probably more options there.
I’ve messaged Srixon numerous times asking them to put a standard 3 wedge set with v soles out to match thei irons.

SCOR, Edilon and Edison are all Terry Koehler wedges.
