Short game is the hardest thing to practice with an injured back. He admitted as such.
Nah. Didn’t you see the video of him chipping in on the practice green? No one has done that before....

I'm saying when he got his first birdie in over a year at last years Hero... everyone went nuts saying "He's back!"... when that clearly wasn't the case. I'm not saying you're wrong but he came second to last that tournament. I highly doubt he placed that poorly and had the most birdies.

He did.

And he could finish last in this tournament even if he plays very well. The field is 17 of the top 20 players + him.

My point is that I'm very neutral to this tournament in regards to him. I've got no confidence in saying he'll totally suck and hurt himself again or that he'll finish top 5 and go on to win the masters which I've seen people say everywhere.

We only know what he's said. He's pain free. He's been playing golf with guys like Rory, Rickie, and DJ (and winning some). But he seems to finally take the approach of going in with no expectations. That's much more honest from him. He doesn't know how he'll feel, what his schedule will be going forward, or what he can and can't do. That is at the very least a good sign.

His short game

Has not been the same in many moons. His short game helped inspire some of the most hideous wedges in history (Nike Engage wedges. I love them though... excellent wedges). I think he'll struggle around the greens if he doesn't hit good approaches.

Tiger Woods' first start since the 2015 Wyndham Championship featured plenty of positives and a few negatives. Here's a look at some of the key stats from Woods' week at the Hero World Challenge:

• Woods shot rounds of 73-65-70-76 to finish 15th in a field of 17 players.

• Woods led the field with 24 birdies, but he also made six double bogeys, including three on the par-4 18th hole. Hideki Matsuyama, who won by two strokes, recorded 22 birdies.

• Woods, Russell Knox, Louis Oosthuizen, Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed were the only players to record bogey-free rounds.

There's a reason he picked this course for his first rounds and he admitted this yesterday in his press conference:

It's an easy course. The rough isn't crazy and he won't need to hit hard hooks or cuts. Obviously, it helps that he's the host and can play with fewer golfers many of which are his friends and he's been playing with recently. There's a comfort level there.

Question. Does he tell his wife before or after he gets a job in the Bahamas?

He’ll have to tell her before so he can get an advance on his allowance

That sounds fair. Good communication is key.

He also led the field in double bogeys, guess that stat was a little more attention grabbing

No. Tiger leading in birdies was definitely the top story line even after he finished so poorly.

Not playing in an event in over a year with some of the highest ranked players in the field and leading in birdies was pretty impressive.

Almost as impressive as leading in birdies, also leading in double bogeys, and finishing second to last... that actually is remarkable.

You're acting like he finished T70 in the Barbasol when he finished 17/18 playing against the top players in the world.

I think it'll be a repeat of last year. He will have all the Tiger fans going nuts and it will end in the same result.

If your original point was that this tournament doesn't finalize anything for his longterm health/goals, then no one would disagree with you. But you tried to do it by bashing his performance from a year ago which made you look pretty stupid.
