Just played my second round ever of golf and shot a 108(first round ever was a 129). Is this considered good for beginners? Starting to enjoy the game but have trouble with the driver right now

Very good. Driver will be a pain in your arse.
50+ years playing, still will have a day it just won’t cooperate about twice a month

Hit something else and see how it impacts your scores.

I’m really good at hitting mid and short irons. Learned to strike down and a little in front of the ball for those . Can’t hit woods, driver, or long irons. I pop the driver straight in the air

While there is a saying that states you drive for show and putt for dough, it is somewhat deceiving. If you can't put the ball in play off of the tee box and give yourself a shot at hitting the green in regulation, you will never be able to score and lower your handicap. Here's some advice, get lessons, don't spend a bunch of money on clubs yet, spend it on lessons.

I'd bet you are swinging the driver too much like and iron and are too steep with a negative angle of attack and are essentially going underneath the ball. Look at Jon Rahms address where he sets the club 8 or so inches behind the ball and focus on that being the low point to help with a positive angle of attack. There's other setup differences but I'd start there. Get the lessons though.

I have thought of this as well. I literally hit my 7 iron 130ish but driver is going 150

It’s better than your last round. Welcome to the addiction.

Needed another hobby besides trailering up a boat somewhere
ETA
Played second round today and landed a pitching wedge from 80 yards out and landed 6 feet from the hole. That is when I knew the addiction was real

Tips - Don’t break clubs. VERY satisfying at the time, but now you have to find one that isn’t worse
Cheap balls are fine for the first couple years.
Don’t play it down yet, you need all the help you can get
Cursing is not mandatory on the course, just seems that way.
Don’t play for money yet, unless you’re playing me. It’s fine then, press when you want.
Don’t get rid of your old putter, trust me you’ll wish you had it when your current one forgets the ball is supposed to go in the hole.

So true.
Get with a teaching pro and learn the nuances of the setup with driver versus irons. The low point of the swing is behind the ball with the driver, and with irons the low point is in front of the ball.
Also, hybrids are swung similar to irons so you could get some hybrids.
You can’t reach your full potential without some length off the tee so go get that lesson.
Meanwhile also diligently practice the short game.

I think my golf ball is afraid of heights. It will climb right to the lip, look in, and say, “that’s quite the drop off, it might hurt if I fell in, better roll against the slope and grain for a second and finish directly behind the hole.”

Get ready for a whirlwind if emotions from round to round. Golf is great because you can sometimes hit a shot that makes you look identical to a pro. Some days you'll go out and feel like you can't miss a shot only to go out the next time and feel like you've never picked up a club before.
It's a fun sport. Don't take it too seriously that you make it not fun. Cause it cam get extremely frustrating real quick.

I’m already experiencing this. Once I hit the ball great one time, I knew everything from then on is my own fault. Which is where the frustration comes in.

Golf is addictive because it has a randomness to it. Random reward system is the most addictive to the human brain.
Even good players have to deal with randomness. Lip in. Lip out. Hit flagstick; bounce into hazard. Hit cart path; roll an extra 50 yards or bound OB.
A topped shot can go into the hole. A well struck shot can bounce very oddly.

I would rather hit a 7 Iron straight off the tee than a driver 20 yards past it in the woods...
you will probably get a little more carry off a tee anyways...

You will never reach your potential without lessons. Golf is impossible
To figure out on your own because everything is opposite! Sign right to curve it left, swing left to curve it right, hit down to make it go up.
